Notes to My Future Self: Entering My 30s

A letter from my 20s, written at the edge of 2025

2026 is almost here.
And with it, I will turn 30.

This isn’t a farewell to my 20s, it’s a quiet reflection. A pause. A moment to gather lessons earned through mistakes, growth, joy, loss, ambition, and becoming.

These are reminders for myself as I step into a new decade. Not rules. Not promises. Just intentions.

1. Be Present

Most of my 20s were spent worrying about the future—planning, overthinking, anticipating what might come next.
But the future always carries its own secrets, surprises, and problems—no matter how much we prepare.

In my 30s, I want to live more here.
To fully experience moments as they are, not as stepping stones to somewhere else.

2. Learn From Every Mistake

Mistakes shaped me. Some taught gently. Others hurt deeply.
But avoiding mistakes is not wisdom, learning from them is.

I must continue to take responsibility, accept consequences, and grow from every misstep. Becoming better is not about perfection, but progress.

3. Don’t Push People Away

Solitude can feel safe. Independence can feel powerful.
But life isn’t meant to be walked alone.

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

In my 30s, I want to choose connection without losing myself.

4. Read More. Study More. Stay Curious.

I continued my education in my 20s.
In my 30s, I want learning to become deeper, sharper, and more intentional.

Train more. Read widely. Study seriously.
Stay hungry. Stay foolish.

5. Be Sincere

Relationships are not transactions.
They are not always equal, balanced, or measurable.

Sometimes you give more. Sometimes you receive more.
The key is sincerity not comparison.

6. Control Emotions and Ego

Age should come with emotional maturity.
With patience. With restraint. With wisdom.

In my 30s, I hope to respond more than react.
To let ego shrink and understanding grow.

7. See Through Other People’s Eyes

The world doesn’t look the same from every angle.
Listening, truly listening—broadens perspective.

Wisdom grows when I allow myself to see beyond my own point of view.

8. Move More

A sound mind in a sound body.

Exercise is not optional. Movement is not a luxury.
Sweat daily. Strengthen the body that carries all dreams and responsibilities.

9. Eat With Awareness

No more tolerating just anything.
Food is fuel. Food is care.

In my 30s, I want to be mindful of what I put into my body because health is quiet wealth.

10. Build a Deeper Relationship With the Creator

Above all else, I need peace within.
A sincere relationship with the Creator. Trust. Reliance. Gratitude.

The more I lean on Him, the steadier I become.

These are not resolutions.
They are reminders.

A compass for my 30s written with honesty, hope, and humility.
May I return to these words when life gets loud.

Here’s to entering a new decade—
with awareness, wisdom, and faith.
